Hey there!

Hey there! If you haven't figured it out, my name is Rebecca/Becca and I am a local artist in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I am a full time librarian but I wholeheartedly love art and creating just about anything. I would have loved to have gone to school "for art" but hey, I didn't. Thanks to my parents they recommended pursuing another field that held high interest for me and that I could always continue art on the side. So here I am, riding the side life and loving books all at the same time. Pretty cool. 

Thankfully, my full-time job is pretty awesome. Although I love the stereotypical 1950's librarian style, that is not (at all) what libraries are like anymore. Libraries are no longer just about providing books for the community. Our 27 branch system does everything from free lunch for kids, recording studios, meeting room space, and innovative machines such as 3D printers, CNC cutters, laser engravers and more! Libraries are so focused on being community centers and providing whatever their local patrons need to live a successful and happy life and I am thankful to be a part of that effort. 

With that said, in my role, I provide a monthly adult art program, well, for... adults (we like to craft too, right?). I have also recently started a Millennial Book Discussion (millennials are known as unicorns in the library world) where we discuss a book and create something small that ties in with the cover, title, or story. I also help out as a "guest artist" for children and teen programs as well.

I love this part of my job and love that I get to teach people how to create something new every single month! On top of that, I constantly get requests from family and friends for various projects or gift ideas. Basically... there is so much art in my life, gahh! and this is my start to share it all with you... whoever may be reading. So keep a look out for future posts of my totally random (but fun) projects, I can't wait to share!

(I'm sure there are some grammatical/formatting rules for blogs... I do not know of this yet as I have done 0 research... cough... I'm sure I'll learn... k sorry bye)
